9 blocks finished tops in Ripless Paper Piecing class

Sorry again for a crooked photo..probably be my trade mark..lol
I have finished 9 blocks of Ripless paper piecing class with Daphne Greig's class at QU. I do love this class and technique..oh it is for sure again all right..somehow I do manage to get some of the blues shorter than others..why I haven't figured it out yet..but all measurements of the fabrics are the same the templates are too..so it must be the way I am sewing them or placing them..What do you think other than that..lol I love these two colors together..I was going to do lime green with purple but I am tired of using up my lime green..lol I have 7, seven, blocks to go...hugs, Lorraine

My first block and did not ask for help--so thrilled

It is not perfect as I lost the fabric when putting the 3rd one in and could not figure how it all went back on the freezer paper..but the rest will as I am pinning the first wedge, lol..I had already cut the quarter inch and so when I put it there and sew the next one..oh well..but it is fun and I will be making these all week till they are done..I do love the colors together.
Here I am putting the wedges into stacks.. a great way to work.

Ripless Paper Piecing

We had to do some cutting of freezer paper and our fabrics. I am done with all that and it was fairly simple. Here is the wedges all cut and ready to put in order to start sewing. I now hope this will go right for me so I can do a lot of the paper piecing projects that I have been wanting to do and also take the other classes that does paper piecing..this will be next year and not this year. So next year keep this in mind for one of your classes if you like paper piecing. hugs, Lorraine

My Autumn Place Matt and using a different way to machine quilt

Here is the finished place mat. I did five of them and I just love them. I am going to work on some for the Christmas to go with my Christmas fan quilt. They will be holly leaves.
This shows the machine quilting I did with copper metallic thread.
This is when I added the recipe and the batting and backing to the top.
This is the different way to machine quilt...using solvy..it was so easy and taking it off was a snap..it tears so easy. I am so glad I have a blot of this stuff...I was going to work on my Pacific Aquarium class making the seaweed and got out the solvy and read how you can machine quilt with it and you all know me, I will try anything for the first time..lol
Her is the leaves draw onto the solvy and this was simple too. I do hope some of you will try it..It is to me so much better than worrying about if the markings will come off. It might be on the high side of the dollar sign but I think it is worth it.
I am still on my dh computer..
I called yesterday to see why I haven't received my video card...first there was Anne, than Alice and then Sandra...well this is what Sandra in the shipping dept told me..First she asked when do I need it and told her tonight, because it was the last day I could return my computer..than she proceeds to tell me that they are back ordered till the 9th of October but I will might receive my video card Friday or Monday...I asked twice how can I receive it when it is back ordered on the 9th..she repeated that I would received on either one of these days..I think she just said this or she knew something I did not know..I time it and have put all the person names I have talked to even on the phone the first time as I am prorated the time of my buying this computer and if it does not work with the new card I will take it back..Sandra also assured me that they will do anything they have to get my computer to work..told her that is not why I bought a computer..for it to break and you have to fix it all the time..first the mouse and now the video card...oh well, I am OK with it now as I can not do anything till I receive my card..dh has added my old program for photos in his computer, my camera and my web cam so sissy and I can chat and look what each other is working on...boy I have missed it..I have missed blogging and hope I have not lose anyone because of it.
I have signed up for EQ6 Sampler class and have not been able to play with it..so I may have to cancel that and take it next year...I really hate to as I wanted to play with it during the winter months too..I have about 3 classes that I have not been able to do anything as I was going to use this with these classes, so that puts me behind..oh well, that is what is nice about taking online classes, I can do them later with the help of the teacher too..hugs to all and thank you for viewing my blog. These are the fabrics for my new class Ripless Paper Piecing with Daphne Greig..I believe this is the class that I will learn how to paper piece...finally....lol The sample we are using is so pretty and as I go along I will show you..What do you think..

Specialty fabrics I had to put in 2 gallon bags

These photos are my specialty fabrics that I am putting up above the top shelves in my closet where I have nothing but fabrics...4x4x8..I have not used them in over a year and I needed space for newer fabrics and some of my dyes..I am slowly dyeing again..They filled 14 2 gallon bags...I have sheers, tulle, netting, fuzzy fabrics, satin, silk, suede, canvas, and what else I have forgotten..I have it all..just wanted to show you all how one can accumulate fabrics. I did a lot of this last August when I was going to take that class from Christopher Nyeman..sp..and got of of his group..did not like the idea of not having your free spirit of making your own pillows and having to copy him exactly...boring boring..

Video Card has not arrived yet

My video card has not arrive and for the first heard from them today, saying sorry that they haven't met the delivery date and will try there best..but guess what, I bought my computer a month tomorrow so now I can not take it in if this video card does not work but have someone fix it..this is so unfair..
Still viewing from dh computer at least once a day as I said it is DANGER ZONE in here, he has junk all over and can hardly move..and I really hate to have too in case I hurt myself..lol
What have I been working you asked, lol..well, my place mat are done but the binding and I will post photos of how I machine quilt it with a different approach, no marking on the quilt itself..so you will have to wait and hopefully I will get my video card tomorrow even if I do not have a delivery date..There no date by this entry by the way, so they are having troubles probably getting it...
Most of my supplies have arrived, you guess it every time the door bell rings I think it is my card...but not...
I will take a photo of few of the things I have bought, for one a new book..and dh has an interest in it too..but in time..when I get my computer fixed, you all will have view a few pages...lol..I have a new class this weekend..and can't wait to see if it something I will do...will tell more later..just wanted to keep you all informed on whats going on...
Oh I tore my closed full of fabrics only apart and cleaned it out...took off and on about 9 hours..well, I was actually looking a piece of fabric to go on one of the place mat as I only had enough of the other two for 4...never did find it..but in a scrap bag found a scrap of it so must have used it all but at least it cleaned...and neat again..lol I have 15-2 gallon bags of scrap fabric..I do not throw anything out..since I have an embellisher I can use a lot of that on my machine..and also I do a lot of confetti for my lacy looks and once in awhile I will chopped up fabric with my rotary cutter so I will have it on hand..
I have done any of the classes, just haven't felt like it...not even Bargellos Blues...oh well, I think i need a break..
Oh I found my Celtic Table runner I was making in Nancy Chong's class and I was so thrilled and also found my tulip hand quilting from Nyla's class..so now I have something to work on after I bind the 5 place mats...hoping to get them down tomorrow...going to watch a few DVD if I do not forget to ask dh to show me how to use it, yes I do not know how..as I am not much on a TV person..lol but when doing something by hand and do not want my mind to wander I will watch TV..some times it can be depressing, my thinking anyway...not all the time but with family problems happening around here and outta state... I have the tendency to worry...
